Kenyan Safari - August 2013 Nairobi Giraffe Centre

August 26th arrived Nairobi. Quickly through immigration and met outside by Virgin rep. Took just an hour to reach the Jacaranda which is a very nice hotel. Got our room really quickly after a short welcome from Margaret the Virgin rep.

We were booked on the Nairobi Giraffe Centre (NGC) excursion which is a must. My 15 year old daughter loves giraffes and the videos from our last trip to this place were one of the main factors for her joining us on this trip. This now includes lunch at the Karen Blixen Coffee House, a very nice restaurant close to the NGC. After dinner in the grounds we went to the centre. Don't miss this place, all my kids once again ended up mouth feeding "kissing" the giraffe's. In case you are wondering, giraffe saliva is antiseptic, that's how they repair damage from acacia thorns so this isn't as bad as it sounds and the kids loved it. I have videos on this link for my last visit if you want to see what i mean (watch the Giraffe kissing one if nothing else!)

2 pictures and video from this year:
